What is eco-tourism?
Eco-tourism is responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of local people, and involves education. At EcoAfric, we connect you with verified operators who prioritize minimal environmental impact, wildlife protection, and genuine community benefits.
What types of eco-tours are available?
We offer a wide range of sustainable experiences including wildlife safaris, rainforest treks, coastal adventures, cultural immersion tours, bird watching expeditions, conservation volunteering, and community-based tourism. Each tour is designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing authentic experiences.
How does my trip support local communities?
EcoAfric partners exclusively with operators who reinvest in local communities. This includes hiring local guides, sourcing from local businesses, supporting conservation projects, and contributing to community development initiatives. Each tour listing shows its specific community impact.
How are tour operators verified?
Every tour operator on EcoAfric undergoes a thorough vetting process. We assess their sustainability practices, community engagement, environmental certifications, and commitment to ethical tourism. Only operators who meet our strict standards are approved to list their tours on our platform.
How do I book a tour?
Booking is simple. Browse our curated eco-tours by destination, activity type, or sustainability focus. Once you find a tour you love, select your dates, choose your package, and complete your booking securely through our platform. You will receive instant confirmation and all trip details via email.
What is the Booking Protection Fee?
The Booking Protection Fee supports secure payment processing, fraud protection, payment security, dispute management, and transaction infrastructure. EcoAfric uses this customer-facing term rather than labeling it as a card or bank processing fee.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation policies vary by tour operator and are clearly displayed on each listing before you book. Most tours offer full refunds for cancellations made 14+ days in advance, partial refunds for 7–14 days, and case-by-case consideration for last-minute changes due to emergencies or travel disruptions.
How do EcoAfric refunds work?
Unless a tour states otherwise, cancellations more than 30 days before travel are eligible for a 90% refund of the tour package amount, 14–30 days receive 50%, 7–14 days receive 25%, and less than 7 days is generally non-refundable. The EcoAfric Booking Fee and Booking Protection Fee are generally non-refundable.
Can EcoAfric help with visa applications?
Yes. We offer integrated visa application support directly through our platform. Submit your visa requirements during booking, and our team will guide you through the process, track your application status, and keep you updated from submission to approval.
How can I become a verified tour operator?
If you are an eco-tour operator committed to sustainable tourism, we would love to partner with you. Apply through our Provider Registration page, submit your sustainability credentials and business details, and our team will review your application. Approved operators gain access to our dashboard to manage listings, bookings, and traveler communications.
