Why EcoAfric

Tourism is one of Africa's biggest industries. We want it to pay its way.

Travel money can fund conservation and local livelihoods, or leave the continent almost as fast as it arrives. We are a small team trying to move that balance, and the work is as much operational as it is idealistic.

We check, then claim

Every operator is verified before listing. We would rather turn down a partner than publish a sustainability claim we cannot stand behind.

Local by default

Guides, operators and staff come from the places travelers visit. That is the point of the business, not a nice extra.

Transparent commercials

One 10% service deduction, no listing fees, payouts on a stated schedule. Partners can predict exactly what they earn.

Small team, wide remit

Roles here are broad. You will touch things outside your title, and you will have real say in how they get built.

What we look for

The kinds of people who do well here

Backgrounds vary a lot. What tends to be consistent is this:

  • You've worked in or around African tourism, conservation, or hospitality — or you're prepared to learn it properly
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and small-team ownership
  • You can hold a line on standards when it would be easier not to
  • You write clearly — most of the work happens in writing, across time zones
